Angelica Reyes, Nurse Practitioner
Angelica Reyes, NP-BC is duo-certified through both certification boards ANCC and AANP as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Angie started in healthcare when she was 18yo as a CNA working for the county of Kenosha at Brookside Care Center. Upon recieving an Associate degree as a Registered Nurse at 23yo, she started working as an RN at Aurora Hospital in Kenosha in a medical surgical inpatient unit. There, she specialized in cardiology and neurology. Angie also worked there as a SANE RN (sexual assault nurse) for two years. Meanwhile, she received her BSN degree through Grand Canyon University. She also completed an MSN-FNP program in October 2021, at Chamberlain College of Nursing. Angelica transitioned from the RN role to an NP role at Aurora Kenosha with the cardiology group, positioning herself with a team of four cardiologists, taking care of patients in the hospital with cardiology issues such as arrythmias, strokes, and blood pressures issues, to mention a few.
Angelica admits that although it may sound cliche, she truly does love helping people. “I love to get to know my patients and develop a relationship with them. I enjoy working with the low income, uninsured, Spanish speaking population.“
“I have two dogs, Bentley (cockerspaniel/poodle) who is 9 years old and Gigi (teddy bear, shitzu/bijon) who will be 3. I love to walk them and spend time with them. I also enjoy traveling, specifically to beaches outside of the country. I enjoy shopping and spending time with family and friends. I love murder shows and documentaries and also like to dance.“
Her inspiration stems from time spent in hospitals during her early childhood years. “My mom has severe kidney issues and was in and out of surgeries. I don’t remember a lot but I do remember the smiling faces of the healthcare providers and how kind they were, not only to my mom who was the patient but also, to my dad and I. I have known Dr. Swerdlin for a long time, since he took my tonsils out in 2011. He then became my dads ENT a few years back and one thing that has not changed in all these years is how welcoming and kind he and the entire staff here are. I have heard wonderful stories of the team and have personally experienced these wonderful things so I knew I wanted to make a difference and be a part of this team. In healthcare we many times focus on treating conditions once it’s a chronic issue but many times forget to treat the underlying causes like allergies, snoring and sinus issues that could truly prevent these issues becoming chronic and I really believe this is one of the goals of Sinus and Snoring MD.”
